The Leopards girls and boys tennis under 12 finished the tournament respectively in 3rd and 2nd place at the end of the last day. It was necessary to wait for the result of the last confrontation between Congo/Brazzaville and Cameroon. The latter easily won (6-0) and above all allows the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to take 2nd place among the boys. The two losses suffered by the girls against their counterparts from Congo/Brazzaville cost them 2nd place.

During the 2nd day, the young Congolese wildcats managed to do what was necessary in front of opponents who were not technically at the same level, especially on the boys' side where 3 successes were achieved. Gloire Mbulu Mutombo and Daniel Elenga Kilenga did not have much trouble getting rid of Mignon Hondolo (6-0/6-0) and Roland Mabiala (6-2/6-1). The same pair in doubles got the better of the pair Mabiala and Loemba (6-3/6-1). Among the girls, the satisfaction came from Gaëlla Kalonji Mbwaya who beat (6-3/6-0) Anne-Victoire Ngoudu while Rosiane Esomia Tangila lost (2-6/5-7) to Okemba Ingoba. Also in doubles, the pair Nicky Nsele and Gaëlla Kalonji lost (2-6/1-6) to Anne-Victoire Ngoudu and Duba.

The Democratic Republic of Congo Tennis Federation (FRDCT), thanks to its president, engineer Georges Koshi Gimeya, and its entire committee, has fully supported the travel of six young Congolese athletes. The leaders of this area want to give new momentum, having understood that it is in youth that we must absolutely invest. These types of tournaments must be organized frequently to free up the inhibitions of young players who will, in the years to come, be called upon to represent their nations at slightly higher levels.

As a reminder, this tournament was organized by the Congolese Tennis Federation (Fecoten) under the aegis of the African Tennis Confederation (CAT) and the International Tennis Federation (ITF). The final phase will take place in Botswana this year and the boys can still hope to be selected to participate. But now, we will have to wait for the count of 4 other zones to know the final result.
