The Director of Communication of the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI), Jean-Baptiste ITIPO, accompanied by the Territorial Administrator, Emery KANGUMA, and the Provincial Executive Secretary (SEP) of Kwilu, Géorgine VANDAME IKWAMPOFIA, traveled to Masamuna (36 km) and the Kinzenga sector (69 km) on Saturday, November 2, 2024, to raise awareness among the population with a view to the resumption of the national and provincial legislative elections in Masi-Manimba.

Having been informed of the arrival of the CENI delegation, the residents of these localities stormed the gathering place with the aim of finding out about the outlines of these elections rescheduled for December 15, 2024.

From the outset, the Territorial Administrator called on everyone to show civic-mindedness, in order to promote the success of these electoral operations and see Masi-Manimba represented, like other localities in the country, within the institutions.

For the SEP of Kwilu, the resumption of these elections will allow to erase the dark picture that characterized the polls of December 20 that no one wants to relive, marked by fraud and violence that led to their pure and simple cancellation.

She stressed that all those who go to the polls have a new opportunity to prioritise living together by removing the sceptre of division.

In his speech, Jean-Baptiste ITIPO recalled the essential conditions for participating. It is imperative to have your voter card, if necessary go and get a duplicate at the local branch of the Central Electoral Office, for those who have lost it or others whose card has deteriorated and especially consult the electoral lists where they will be posted to find out if your name appears there, before knowing that of the candidate of your choice.

Among other things, speaking about the issues related to the accreditation of witnesses, observers and journalists, in addition to the possibility of being recruited, from November 2 to 6, 2024, as voting center computer technicians (TICV).

To date, he pointed out, the CENI has already registered more than 200 applications for these positions where many young people are expected.

On Sunday morning, the Director of Communication and the SEP of Kwilu went to the Saint Paul parish of Masi-Manimba for the same reason.

With the help of the parish priest, today's mass ended on awareness note. Jean-Baptiste ITIPO worked, as he did the day before, to remind people of the conditions required to participate in these elections, for which the voter card is the key.

For his part, the churchman raised his soul to God by prayer so that the upcoming elections take place in peace and serenity. Before announcing that he could mobilize, at his level, the greatest number of believers in his parish and made a commitment to continue raising awareness in his area.
