The Synergy of National Education Unions called on Wednesday, October 23, for teachers in public schools in Beni to return to work.
Beni: The Synergy of National Education Unions Calls on All Teachers to Return to Work
As of Tuesday, October 22, this Synergy estimates that 40% of public schools have resumed school activities in this city in North Kivu.
According to Ghislain Paluku Bambirikire, the spokesperson for this Synergy, this situation is due in particular to the lack of information among most teachers.
He estimates that by the end of the week, the resumption will be effective after the complete dissemination of information to teachers who have not yet returned to class.
"In response to the call launched at the national level by the Synergy of Unions, teachers in the city of Beni have not massively followed this call. I estimate the resumption at around 40%. This situation is due to the fact that many teachers had not received the information at the national level. "We are relaying this information so that even teachers in the most remote areas, who have not been able to follow the local and national media, can become aware of it," explained Ghislain Paluku Bambirikire.
He told teachers that this resumption is taking place while waiting for the Government to keep its promise to honor the teachers' demands.
"If we see that there is no progress, we will consider resuming the strike to push our employer, the State, to respond to our demands," he concluded.
