African Boxing Championship: Three Congolese Win Victory on Day 1

Three Congolese boxers won the fights of the first day of the African Boxing Championship, Saturday, October 20 at the gymnasiums of the Martyrs stadium in Kinshasa (DRC). They thus move on to the next round.

The 21st edition of the African Boxing Championship kicked off on the same Saturday in the Congolese capital. More than 25 countries are taking part. After the official kick-off by the Congolese Minister of Sports, Didier Budimbu, ten fights took place for the preliminary round/Men.

The three Congolese who entered the ring for this round won on points over their opponents. They are Tulembekwa Zola (-48 kg), Boniface Zengala (-63kg) and Reagean Anyisha (-92Kg).

  • Victory for Paulo Banguine of Mozambique against Maarouf Amine of Morocco

Less than 57kg

  • Namibia's Morning Ndevelo beats Congo's Bilonda Massala on points

Less than 63 kg

  • Boniface Zengala of the DRC ZENGALA beat Excellent Mbolo of Congo on points
  • Masamba John Paul of South Africa defeated Sebastien Allela of Gabon by KO in the 2nd round

Less than 67 kg

  • Morocco's Nadir Abdel beats Gabon's Arthur Lendoye on points

Less than 75 kg

  • Senegalese Junior Mendy beat Congo's Oyo Nowani on points

Less than 92 kg

  • Reagan Anyisha won ahead of Balde Diarga of Senegal.
