The Minister of State, Congolese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Thérèse Kayikwamba Wagner, will travel to Toronto, Canada, in the coming days, at the invitation of her Canadian counterpart, Mélanie Joly. This visit is part of a high-level international meeting bringing together some twenty women ministers of Foreign Affairs.

This summit, initiated by Canada, demonstrates this country's commitment to gender equality and women's empowerment, both domestically and globally.

During an audience granted on September 14 to the Canadian ambassador to the DRC, Maryse Guilbeault, the two personalities also discussed the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries. In addition, the discussions focused on the modernization projects of the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Canadian experience could inspire the DRC in its own efforts to reform its ministry.

This visit by the Congolese minister to Toronto is of strategic importance. It will allow the DRC to strengthen its position on the international scene and contribute to the development of more inclusive foreign policies focused on women's rights.

Lors d'une audience accordée le 14 septembre à l'ambassadrice du Canada en RDC, Maryse Guilbeault, les deux personnalités ont également évoqué les excellentes relations bilatérales entre les deux pays. Par ailleurs, les échanges ont porté sur les projets de modernisation du ministère canadien des Affaires étrangères. L'expérience canadienne pourrait inspirer la RDC dans sa propre démarche de réforme de son ministère.
